Bid for Love, aptly nicknamed "Lovie", 1994, a 16 hand gray TB mare. Lovie did a stint on the track racing until she was 6 years old. Placing in the top 3 in 15 out of 37 races, she is extremely athletic. She was sold off the track and she was bred for what ended up a surprise baby to a paint stallion producing a minimal white bay filly named little girl. Lovie's filly has her wonderful movement and temperament. While pregnant she was sold to my friend Becky and Applewood farm, a hunter barn. I went to see this mare on a whim after discussing her with my husband on a fluke this mares pedigree went back to Crimson Satan, which made her related to the very first mare Walter had bought me. I went to see her and fell in love.

Lovie is the momma on our place. She baby sits, mothers and socializes the youngsters she is turned out with. She can be found grooming Stormie and when she gets done she moves on to Sophie.

She is now blind in one eye from Uveitis but is still a great ride. She is a great lesson in faith and trust. She lunges both directions even though all she has for feed back is the sound of the whip in the middle on the blind side. She is a wonderful mover with huge over track at the walk, and great suspension at the trot. Her canter is still huge and ground covering.

She can occasionally be found stirring up match races in the field with Stormie as they gallop full tilt across their 7 acre field. On the other hand she is so sensible that my 3 year old came running out to see her in the cross ties and ran under her belly as she watched him, you could almost hear her thinking "what are you doing there little one". She is a farm favorite for her easy going style with the kids.
